Blueback is a great novel, it’s an easy read and I recommend it to all ages. He gets married and his wife and his daughter both are divers.

There’s been a lot of talk about Tim Winton being an amazing author, so I just thought to give one of his novels a go since it was right there in the library today. Tim Winton is magical.

I listened to this in car with my kids aged 11 and 7 and love the fact they protested every time we had to stop. The film Wintn Fence is based on tom true account of Doris Pilkington’s mother, Molly, who as a young girl led her two sisters on an extraordinary 1, kilometre walk home.

Then a boy called Menzies makes her itm offer she can’t refuse, and they set off on a job of their own. The story follows the life of a boy growing up beside the sea, diving with his byy he meets a huge fish which he befriends and names Blueback.

I haven’t rated this higher as it was a little too short I read it in under an hourand while I loved the writing, it was missing that Winton spark that elevates his stories to the upper echelons. Every day he and the other inmates are told to dig a hole, five feet wide by five feet deep, reporting anything they find.
